PAWEL PUDLO
COMPOSER, PRODUCER, DIRECTOR
He composes orchestral, choral and chamber music and often combines symphonic cast with electronics and ethnic instruments. Pawel Pudlo is a music producer of all his compositions. As a director and producer, he created such projects as “Elements”, “Phoenix Cities” and “Violemi”. He is the author of an symphonic piece commissioned by UEFA, which was presented during the European Football Championships Euro 2012. Pawel Pudlo’s music is performed by Polish and foreign musicians from, among others, Berliner Philharmoniker, Sinfonia de Barcelona, Polish National Opera, NOSPR.
“Elements” is a symphony by Pawel Pudlo, which became the basis for a multidisciplinary project of the same title, combining music, art and ecological education. The premiere took place in 2018 at the Sudeten Philharmonic. The philharmonic symphony orchestra also played on recycled instruments - from washing machine drums to plastic bottles. Almost 200 people were involved in the creation of the project, including musicians and academic staff of the University of Wroclaw, and the educational activities accompanying the project were addressed to 500 elementary and high school students.
“Violemi” is a fantasy opera that premiered in 2010 with the engagement of more than 90 people. It's an epic story about maturity and responsibility, as well as the related difficult choices. Written in a legend-like style, it stands out due to its fresh form – it combines elements of opera, musical and symphonic film music.
The “War Horns“ anti-war concert premiered at the Solidarity of Arts 2015 festival in Gdansk. The composition was performed by the musicians from Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia. The piece was also performed at the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice and at the Warsaw Uprising Museum as part of the Phoenix Cities project, that combined music and history. Pawel Pudlo directed the video for the composition, which promoted the concert. The War Horns album, released in 2017 by DUX label, was included on the list of „Album of the Year 2018 - Classic" by the magazine "HI-FI and Music".
Pawel Pudlo’s music is performed by Polish and foreign musicians from, among others, Berliner Philharmoniker, Dortmunder Philharmoniker, Florence Opera, Sinfonia de Barcelona, Malaysian Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish National Opera, Sudeten Philharmonic, Polish Baltic Philharmonic, NOSPR, Poznan Philharmonic, National Forum of Music and Sinfonia Varsovia.
He is also the author of an orchestral and choral piece commissioned by UEFA, which was presented during pre-match ceremonies in Poland and Ukraine during the European Football Championships Euro 2012. He also created the music for Poland’s promotional campaign entitled Move Your Imagination, presented at the opening ceremony of the largest tourism trade show in the world - ITB Berlin 2011 Trade Show.
Pawel Pudlo participated as an expert in the field of copyright, composition and music production at the International Sports Marketing Days at the headquarters of the Polish Olympic Committee in Warsaw and gave lectures for students and graduates of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and music high schools in Poland.
Pawel Pudlo became the protagonist of a documentary film “A few questions about hearing the world” that focused on four Polish composers of contemporary and film music. The premiere of the film took place at the Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw. The film was also shown on Polish public television as well as at film and music festivals in Poland, France, Israel and Estonia.
He was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship Poland in the field of culture and is the winner of the second Transatlantyk Music Film Competition in 2012.
